The Best Margarita Recipe
Over the weekend Ed and I celebrated the 4th in our backyard with friends and family. It was three days filled with lots of good food, music and good libations (specifically, the best margarita recipe ever).

When the clock chimed 5 o’clock on Friday afternoon… The holiday weekend became official and we went into full outdoor party mode.
Whenever we get together in the summer for backyard BBQ’s there is one thing that everyone anticipates and always asks for, something Ed is quite famous for….
….his Margaritas! He makes pitcher after pitcher for the crowd and can never make the concoction fast enough.
He has tried many recipes and has come up with his own using 4 ingredients that make them taste so good. He makes them on the rocks and whips them up by the pitcher full in a blender. Best part…he is willing to share the recipe.
These blue rimmed hand blown glasses were perfect to hold Ed’s margaritas.
A shot glass tray has been something that Ed always wanted me to make out of wood for him. When I saw this one, I knew I had to get it for him, no DIY needed. It is no longer available.
It is complete with salt shaker and small dish for limes.
The new island-inspired additions to our outdoor entertaining arsenal fit in perfectly. There were margaritas served up all around…
along with a shot or two with a shaker of salt.
The weekend went by way too quickly. Our guests are gone and the house is quiet again.
If you read my post last week, I was in the thick of making beds in preparation for the arrival of everyone. Now, I am on the flip side. Stripping the beds and laundering all the sheets and towels. Which has turned out to be an all day affair.
In between loads of laundry, I started a new project…one that involves glossy white spray paint. It is one of four projects I am doing this summer to make over our mudroom on a budget. I will post all about it next week.
Back to the laundry while still dreaming of candle lit evenings, beaches, boats and paradise….
This Margarita recipe will fill a pitcher. Be prepared to make a few batches. :-)
