Style Scouting: Vol. 194

Thanks for stopping by for this week’s Style Scouting. My Sunday post where I share the random stuff that captured my attention or inspired me that I found online.

How is your holiday weekend going so far? It is always easy to know when it is a holiday weekend on the lake as the boats with families tubing and jet ski traffic goes way up starting on Friday morning.

Ed and I are enjoying a quiet weekend. We plan to head out on the lake today to go kayaking and then later for a spin on the boat. Once we get home, we will grill something for dinner and Ed will enjoy this frozen pie that he loves and I made for him yesterday.

Before getting to the links I found this week, I have a favor to ask of you. I, along with all bloggers and content creators on the web need your help!!! If you enjoy reading blogs and websites written by real people then please consider reading this.

In a nutshell it is about all the not so great changes Google has made to their search engine over the last few months as they race to be the king of Ai and how it is going to impact most of your favorite blogs and websites.

Now onto this week’s links…

Posts You May Have Missed This Week:

Decorating

I have been to Charleston and have seen many of the exteriors of the historic homes there, this was a fun glimpse inside one of them.

I really like this designer’s charming portfolio where the rooms are filled with character and don’t look trendy – just classic and very livable.

Drew Barrymore’s Hamptons summer house is for sale. It is on the small size as far as Hampton’s homes go. I love all the mullioned window partition in the kitchen.

DIY

Even if you don’t have a mudroom, this DIY could be done in a closet or on any wall to help you better organize items you bring and take out of your home on a daily basis.

  • I have been trying to find white sandals with arch support and have tried on a dozen or more styles. Finally, this was the pair that felt and looked the best.
  • A few of you emailed me about the skort I was wearing in the closet pic in my last post. You can see it here, full-price and for a whole lot less – only $20 here.

  1. Happy to sign the letter… I’m not impressed by AI one bit. Thanks for sharing that info.

I have a pair of SAS sandals similar to those you show – mine have a strap – they’re very comfortable! I hope you enjoy yours! Tip: I found mine brand new on eBay for about a third the cost of those in your link.

Great scouting this week, Diane. I loved that Fig design portfolio – so nice to have something lean toward more traditional. We are being so inundated with ultra modern or ultra colorful – two styles difficult for my sense of aesthetic beauty. Enjoyed it. It’s so cosy. Hope you continue having nice weather and enjoy your kayaking and boating. Growing up in a summer vacationland area of the Great Lake Erie I totally understand knowing when it all officially starts. My two brothers and one of my sisters still lives up there and they don’t refer to the visitors as tourists, they refer to them as terrorists. Haha. Can’t drive/ too much traffic/ too many people/ etc. I always loved the boys of summer. But I have been gone many years.

  3. I signed the letter. I appreciate your blog and the work you do.

    Thank you!
