Not much to write about this week – 4 days to go, then I will be on the other side of getting my right hip replaced and getting back to normal.

One thing I have been able to do since I am sitting around is update a few old posts. I will be sharing some of them with you over the next few weeks as I focus on everything I need to do to get back moving the way I am used to.

Then it will be full steam ahead all things for the holidays and Christmas which I have been planning in my mind. I can tell you I am thinking I may go classic this year using red and green to decorate. So stay tuned. :-)

Posts You May Have Missed This Week:

Decorating

I would have never chosen the color orange for a front door, but this one sure looks stunning.

Such a great idea, remove an unused sitting space in a living room to build this!

I enjoyed this designer interview and her work.

This very colorful kitchen.

I want the kitchen island in this home.

DIY

Who knew that clear glass plates could be used this way. Beautiful!

If I had a space to do this, I would.

I very textured pumpkin decorating idea.

I am going to try this hack the next time I carve a pumpkin.

Food

If you like Ina Garten and her cookbooks, she is going to be on 60 minutes tonight. She also has a new cookbook coming out.

How cute and clever for a fun and somewhat healthy Halloween treat. And these are just the cutest!!!

No cherries… A vanilla bean Old-Fashioned.

This cake is so classically fall.

Out & About

For all cat owners. Could you do this with your kitty?

The new luxury way to travel… for cheap.

This 3 piece channel stitched quilt set for $59.00 would look great in one of my guest rooms.

Fun & Interesting

What a success story!!!

The tale of the haunting of the little white house.

Good morning Diane, I always read your blog but seldom comment. But as someone who had hip surgery , I feel compelled to send a few tips for your upcoming hip surgery.

First, you should have a physical therapist come to your home several days after surgery. At first you can’t walk up or down stairs. You may need your husband to help you get in and out of bed. Also Medicare should provide a portable toilet to roll next to your bed. Use ice throughout the day to reduce swelling and do the exercises your therapist recommends. Walk, walk, walk once you are able. You should be better in about a month. Good luck!

    1. Praying for a smooth surgery for you and a complete transition to total recovery.
