Insta-Style: Door Stop
I have an Insta-Style post for you today. I haven’t done one in quite a while.
What’s Insta-Style? A weekend series of simple projects for which no tutorial is needed.
You may not own the same items I show in the series of posts, but I am hoping that the ideas will inspire you to look at everything around you with new eyes and ask yourself…”what if?” to come up with your own Insta-Style decorating ideas.
Being that it is Memorial Day weekend, I thought this Insta-Style would be fitting to start the summer off.
If you are like me and like your windows and doors open in the summer months to let in the breeze, you may need a stylish and easy way to keep the doors from slamming shut when a breeze blows through the house.
My go-to doorstops are brick shaped glass blocks. No DIY needed to use them. You simply buy them, bring them home and place one in front of an open door to keep it from slamming shut.
I like using them since they are clear and go with any style of decor.
They work on tile floors.
As well as on a carpet.
I found a box full of them at my local ReStore many years ago and have been using them as doorstops ever since. You can find them online for around $5.00 – $6.00 a block. Amazon sells them, but the shipping is way too much and they are not Prime eligible. Home Depot sells them for $4.75 a piece.
If you prefer a more colorful alternative, check out this post where I show how I added some decorative style to some bricks to create colorful doorstops: How to Make a Decorative Doorstop

For all my readers in the US, Memorial Day weekend is here. A weekend to remember our Military and the start of the summer season :-) I hope you have a beautiful weekend.
